During the Covid-19 Lockdowns of 2020, Jon became increasingly aware of friends and colleagues experiencing one of two things;
- burnout from the pressure of trying to re-imagine their art form and how it connects to audiences
- burnout from attempting to prove they are worth being engaged, or
- total disillusionment from lack of connection, support and stimulation
… many ultimately had to take work in other industries to survive.
For many this has continued despite reopening, and coupled with other world events, like Brexit, has made it impossible for some to be able to remain in the arts. Brilliant established minds and creatives are changing career paths. Emerging industry professionals being told the arts “isn’t viable” for them.
In late 2021, Animas Centre for Coaching announced the launch of their Social Impact Incubator. This was to be a place for Coaches to have coaching support in developing a project designed to create social impact. From a pool of over 60 coaches, Jon was selected as one of six to participate.
Over the next 12 months, through collaborative and mutual coaching with the 5 other project leaders, and with an accountability partner, founder Jon Dafydd-Kidd, developed a support package for creative professionals.
And so, with support from the Animas Social Impact Incubator, Creative Warriors was born.
Jon is on his own journey to become his own kind of Creative Warrior, which he embraces via his love of being a Spartan Race OCR competitor.
